It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but River Valley had no problem doing just that on Monday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 57-21 win over the Portage Mustangs. The victory was just business as usual for the Panthers, who after 23 games remain undefeated this season.

When it comes to explaining why Portage lost, don't look at Cassidy Burkett. Despite the final result, she posted two points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mya Burda, who earned six points.

River Valley pushed their record up to 23-0 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.6 points per game. As for Portage, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-10.

River Valley will challenge Penns Manor at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Penns Manor has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Portage, they will take on West Shamokin at 7:10 p.m. on February 10th. Portage is facing West Shamokin at the right time seeing as West Shamokin is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
