Basketball Game Preview: Dublin Gaels vs. Freedom Falcons

Dublin has won 13 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Freedom has won 13 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. The two teams will face off at 4:30 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Friday, Dublin made easy work of Livermore and carried off a 45-23 victory. Given the Gaels' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while the Cowboys are ranked 786th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Freedom took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 60-28 win over Pittsburg. With the Falcons ahead 44-4 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Freedom has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.4 points per game. As for Dublin, their victory bumped their record up to 11-0.

Dublin strolled past Freedom in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 58-44. Does Dublin have another victory up their sleeve, or will Freedom turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
