Preview: Commodore Perry Panthers vs. Lakeview Sailors
The Commodore Perry Panthers will be playing at home against the Lakeview Sailors at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Commodore Perry is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Friday, Commodore Perry was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 28-24 to Rocky Grove.
Jazlyn Boyles was Commodore Perry's leading scorer, having posted seven points.
Skyleigh McCloskey held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lakeview earned a 47-40 victory over West Middlesex on Thursday. The win was just what Lakeview needed coming off of a 66-26 defeat in their prior contest.
Commodore Perry dropped their record down to 0-20 with that loss, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.0 points per game. As for Lakeview, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Commodore Perry was dealt a bruising 44-1 defeat at the hands of Lakeview in their previous meeting back in January. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Commodore Perry was down 27-0.
