Soccer Game Preview: East Hall vs. Johnson

The East Hall Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Johnson Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, East Hall put up the most goals they have all season on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Monroe Area a 6-0 shutout. East Hall haven't had any issues with Monroe Area recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Johnson came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 5-1 victory. Considering Johnson have won eight matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

East Hall pushed their record up to 5-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three games. As for Johnson, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.

East Hall came up short against Johnson in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
