Soccer Game Preview: San Clemente vs. Northwood

The San Clemente Tritons will venture away from home to take on the Northwood Timberwolves at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. San Clemente will be strutting in after a win while Northwood will be coming in after a defeat.

San Clemente will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Saturday, then bounced right back against Roosevelt on Tuesday. San Clemente blew past Roosevelt 5-2. Considering the Tritons' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

They hit Roosevelt with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Gigi Nacelli (2), Emma Nelson, Sophie Thorstenson, and Gianna Melton.

Meanwhile, Northwood came up short against Huntington Beach on Tuesday, falling 7-1.

Northwood now has a losing record at 1-2. As for San Clemente, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

San Clemente came out on top in a nail-biter against Northwood in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, sneaking past 2-1. Does San Clemente have another victory up their sleeve, or will Northwood turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
