Basketball Game Preview: United Christian Academy Eagles vs. California Lutheran C-Hawks

The United Christian Academy Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the California Lutheran C-Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. United Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, United Christian Academy beat Los Altos 42-36.

United Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Jordin Edwards, who went 8 for 13 en route to 16 points and three steals. Edwards has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gigi Marquez, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.

United Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in nine consecutive games.

Meanwhile, California Lutheran played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against California School for the Deaf-Riverside, falling 56-11. While losing is never fun, the C-Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1288th, while the Cubs are ranked 505th).

United Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 18-5. As for California Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Everything came up roses for United Christian Academy against California Lutheran when the teams last played on January 9th, as the squad secured an 80-7 victory. In that matchup, United Christian Academy amassed a halftime lead of 49-2, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
