Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pueblo West). They put the hurt on the Lewis-Palmer Rangers with a sharp 20-4 win on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Cyclones in their matchups with the Rangers: they've now won seven in a row.
Kassidy Donley made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Donley was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her six plate appearances with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Pueblo West got a massive performance out of Payton Odell, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs Odell has posted since back in September of 2024. Acelyn Duran also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Pueblo West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lewis-Palmer only posted an OBP of .387.
The win got Pueblo West back to even at 3-3. As for Lewis-Palmer, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Coincidentally, Pueblo West and Lewis-Palmer will both be playing Liberty the next time they take the field. The Rangers will head out to face the Lancers at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Cyclones will host them at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
