Soccer Game Preview: Dougherty vs. Cairo

Dougherty hasn't had much luck against Cairo recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Trojans will be playing at home against the Syrupmakers at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Dougherty headed into their last matchup having not scored more than one goal for four straight, but Monroe let them put that streak behind them. The Trojans never let the Golden Tornadoes get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory last Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for Dougherty as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Cairo had just enough and edged out Peach County 2-1 last Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cairo.

Cairo's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five contests. As for Dougherty, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-11.
