Basketball Game Preview: San Gabriel Matadors vs. Mark Keppel Aztecs

San Gabriel hasn't had much luck against Mark Keppel recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The San Gabriel Matadors will look to defend their home court against the Mark Keppel Aztecs at 7:00 p.m.

San Gabriel is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a 54-7 loss at the hands of Bell Gardens. The Matadors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-7.

Meanwhile, Mark Keppel humbled Schurr with a 53-14 victory. The Aztecs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Mark Keppel has also been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.1 points per game. As for San Gabriel, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

San Gabriel was dealt a bruising 80-8 loss at the hands of Mark Keppel in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point San Gabriel was down 48-3.
