Baseball Game Preview: Stockbridge Tigers vs. Hampton Hornets

For the second straight game, Stockbridge will face off against Hampton. The Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Stockbridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.

While Stockbridge's win against Hampton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Hornets 3-2 on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won three in a row.

Dereck Foster and Casey McBride made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Foster tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, McBride struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Foster also tossed a walk, which is notable because Stockbridge is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 8-10 otherwise. At the plate, Foster went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI, while McBride scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

The win got Stockbridge back to even at 11-11. As for Hampton, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.
