Football Recap: Albuquerque Piles Up the Points Against Valley

Albuquerque had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 27-point drubbing they dealt Valley on Saturday. The Bulldogs breezed past the Vikings to the tune of 34-7. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Andre Martin went supernova, throwing for 208 yards and a pair of TDs, while also rushing for 76 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries. Albuquerque's leading receiver Juan Carlos Landeros was Martin's top target yet again, picking up 84 receiving yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Albuquerque was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 295 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Albuquerque didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Roman Viscarra, James Montano, and Romeo Ellis picked up one apiece.

Albuquerque's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Albuquerque will be playing in front of their home fans against Alamogordo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Valley, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Goddard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
