The Luella Lions are taking a road trip to take on the Jones County Greyhounds at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Luella is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.
It was a proper cat-fight when Luella challenged Stephenson on Friday. The Lions came out on top against the Jaguars by a score of 8-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Jayden Davis was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Luella is 11-2 when Davis posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Arvis Croll, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Jones County waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 25-3 margin over the Warhawks. The Greyhounds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by eight runs or more this season.
Kaylob Harris looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caleb Sark, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Chase Hasty also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Jones County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McDonough only posted an OBP of .250.
Luella pushed their record up to 13-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Jones County, their record now sits at 18-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Luella has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 10.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Jones County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
