Softball Game Preview: Loganville Christian Academy Lions vs. Grovetown Warriors

The Loganville Christian Academy Lions will take on the Grovetown Warriors at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Loganville Christian Academy proved they can win big on Friday (they won by eight) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over North Oconee. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since September 19, 2024.

Meanwhile, Grovetown had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past North Oconee 16-2.

Josalyn Sergent made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Sergent was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Iman Wright was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in August of 2024. Another player making a difference was Isabella Garcia, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
