Soccer Game Preview: Everett Alvarez vs. Mercy

After a short break, it's finally time for some more action. The Everett Alvarez Eagles will be playing at home against the Mercy Bears at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Everett Alvarez is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.2 goals per game this season.

Mercy better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Everett Alvarez really get things going. Everett Alvarez never let Carmel onto the board and left with a 4-0 victory two weeks ago. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by four goals or more this season.

They hit Carmel with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Destiny Lopez (2), Arely Rubio, and Jennifer Montes.

Meanwhile, Mercy was not able to break out of their rough patch on December 12th as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 8-0 to San Mateo.

Everett Alvarez has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those four games. As for Mercy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Everything went Everett Alvarez's way against Mercy when the teams last played back in January, as Everett Alvarez made off with a 6-1 win. In that contest, Everett Alvarez amassed a halftime lead of 3-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
