On Saturday, Moreno Valley faced Etiwanda in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Moreno Valley Vikings came up short against the Etiwanda Eagles, falling 78-54. The Vikings' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Moreno Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Bella Medina, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leiayjah Mills, who scored 12 points.

Moreno Valley's defeat ended an 18-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 18-6. As for Etiwanda, the win was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-4.

Moreno Valley will venture away from home to square off against Heritage at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage is on a ten-game streak of home wins, Moreno Valley a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Etiwanda, they will take on Rancho Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Etiwanda knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 18 matches -- so hopefully Rancho Christian likes a good challenge.
