Softball Recap: Pueblo South Takes a Loss

Pueblo South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of the Canon City Tigers. Even though they lost, the Colts' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Enyce Tinnin led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Camacho-Orona, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three RBI and one run.

Pueblo South's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Canon City, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pueblo South will challenge Pueblo Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Colts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Canon City, they are taking a road trip to take on Coronado at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
