Basketball Recap: Homer-Center Comes Up Short

Homer-Center played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the River Valley Panthers, falling 68-22. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-14.

Ava Persichetti continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for River Valley, going 11 of 14 en route to 26 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Maren Dunlap, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 14 points and four steals.

Homer-Center has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for River Valley, the win keeps them at an undefeated 18-0.

Homer-Center will face off against Purchase Line at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for River Valley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-26 victory against Richland on the 25th.
