Baseball Game Preview: Jenkins Warriors vs. Bryan County Redskins

The Jenkins Warriors are taking a road trip to face off against the Bryan County Redskins at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Bryan County took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Jenkins, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Jenkins made easy work of New Hampstead and carried off a 16-1 victory. Considering the Warriors have won three matchups by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

DJ Rohan was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. He has become a key player for Jenkins: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Marquis Bush, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3.

Jenkins was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Bryan County didn't have quite enough to beat Emanuel County Institute on Friday and fell 6-5.

Bryan County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gunner Ennis, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Bryan County's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 13.7 runs. As for Jenkins, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Jenkins has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bryan County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
