Basketball Game Preview: Casey County Rebels vs. Knox Central Panthers

The Casey County Rebels will face off against the Knox Central Panthers at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Casey County has given up an average of 52.5 points per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Casey County and Mercer County, and Mercer County kept the tradition alive. The Rebels took a hard 65-49 fall against the Titans on Thursday.

Knott County Central typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Knox Central proved too difficult a challenge. They snuck past the Patriots with a 56-50 win. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Patriots are ranked 111th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Casey County's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Knox Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Casey County got the 'W' when the teams last played back in December of 2016 against Knox Central by a conclusive 65-39 score. Will the Rebels repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
