Basketball Recap: Parkway West Piles Up the Points Against Martin Luther King

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Parkway West). They claimed a resounding 54-27 win over the Martin Luther King Cougars. The HOYAS pushed the score to 39-16 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cougars had little chance of recovering from.

It was another big night for Nymira Bryant, who posted 23 points. Zaahirah Shabazz was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Parkway West pushed their record up to 2-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.4 points per game. As for Martin Luther King, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Parkway West will face off against Science Leadership Academy at Beeber at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Science Leadership Academy at Beeber will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Parkway West surely won't give up without a fight. As for Martin Luther King, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
