Football Game Preview: Scituate Spartans vs. Narragansett Mariners + How To Watch

Scituate is 0-4 against Narragansett since November of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Spartans will head out to face off against the Mariners at 6:00 p.m. Scituate's defense has only allowed 11 points per game this season, so Narragansett's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Scituate is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 21-7 victory over Smithfield. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Scituate relied on the efforts of Drake Dumont, who rushed for 68 yards and a pair of scores, and John Rubiano, who picked up 77 receiving yards and one TD. An impressive showing, but Dumont really ramped things up playing D: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made 11 total tackles.

Scituate didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Smithfield to a completion percentage of just 41.7%. The Spartans have been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.64 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.64 in their last three games.

Meanwhile, after only 13 points in their last game, Narragansett made sure to put some points up on the board against Hope on Friday. The Mariners breezed past the Blue Wave to the tune of 47-6. Considering the Mariners have won four matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Scituate's record is now 6-3. As for Narragansett, their record now sits at 7-2.

Scituate and Narragansett were almost perfectly matched up in their previous matchup back in October, but Scituate suffered an agonizing 21-20 loss. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
