Softball Recap: Sumner Takes a Loss

Sumner and Sarasota squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Sumner had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Sailors by a score of 1-0. The Stingrays just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Sumner's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Sarasota, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 21-5.

Sumner does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sarasota, they will square off against Newsome at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Sailors 3.8, the Wolves 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
