Softball Recap: Monroe City's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Five

It was a proper cat-fight when Monroe City faced off against Canton on Thursday. The Panthers walked away with a 9-6 win over the Tigers. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

The victory (which was Monroe City's fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Canton, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-12 record.

Canton has already played their next matchup, a 6-5 victory against Schuyler County on the 4th. Hopefully Monroe City paid attention to the Tigers' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
