Softball Recap: Grand Island Triumphs

Grand Island's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Norfolk Panthers by a score of 4-1. This was payback for the Islanders, who suffered a 12-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Paislee Welty made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off ten hits. Welty was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madisyn Hostetler, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Aysha Gawrych was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

The win got Grand Island back to even at 1-1. As for Norfolk, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
