Football Recap: Cheatham County Central Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Cheatham County Central had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 41-6 loss at the hands of the Cascade Champions. The Cubs were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Cascade's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sam Bradley led the charge by throwing for 180 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 72.2% of his passes, and also rushing for 60 yards and one touchdown. The Champions' leading receiver Corey Gooch was Bradley's top target yet again, picking up 75 receiving yards and two scores, while also rushing for 35 yards and one TD.

Looking ahead, Cheatham County Central will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Glencliff at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cascade, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Moore County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
