Baseball Game Preview: Chattahoochee Cougars vs. Seckinger Jaguars

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Chattahoochee Cougars take on Seckinger Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Chattahoochee's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Seckinger's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Chattahoochee's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Wednesday's struggle, when Seckinger hitters got past them. Chattahoochee fell just short of Seckinger by a score of 10-8 on Wednesday. The Cougars' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

For Seckinger's part, Shia Carnish looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

At the plate, Seckinger got a big performance out of Sam Melanson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Melanson a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Harry Pirkle, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Seckinger kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chattahoochee only managed nine hits.

Chattahoochee's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Seckinger, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.
