Basketball Recap: New Castle Comes Up Short

New Castle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 54-14 loss at the hands of the Chartiers Valley Colts. The contest marked the Hurricanes' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Rachel Boehm was the offensive standout of the matchup as she went 6 for 10 on her way to 15 points. Another player making a difference was Iyla Ozbey, who posted seven points.

New Castle's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Chartiers Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-6.

New Castle will head out to face off against South Fayette at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in South Fayette's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests. Chartiers Valley has already played their next game (against Trinity), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
