Basketball Recap: Laurel Comes Up Short

Laurel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the Neshannock Lancers and fell 65-19. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 397th, while the Lancers are ranked 63rd).

Laurel's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Neshannock, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Laurel will challenge Rochester at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Neshannock has already played their next game (against Aliquippa), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
