Jones County put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Cherokee Chiefs.
Landen Wilson looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Jones County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylob Harris, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Harris has posted since back in March of 2024. Amir Harris was another, scoring two runs while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.
Jones County's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Cherokee, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
Coming up, Jones County will face off against Seckinger at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Cherokee, they will be playing in front of their home fans against David Crockett at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
