The Academy has gone 8-2 against Peak to Peak recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. Meanwhile, Peak to Peak entered their tilt with Kennedy on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Commanders 15-3. Considering the Pumas have won nine matchups by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Karina Lefort made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.
In other batting news, Peak to Peak let Peyton Eckert and Evelyn Kraft run wild. Eckert went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles, while Kraft went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most runs Kraft has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Haskins, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Peak to Peak always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
The Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Peak to Peak, their win bumped their record up to 9-13.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. The Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .449. However, it's not like Peak to Peak struggles in that department as they've averaged .473. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
