Winder-Barrow dropped down to 3-2 on Wednesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Cherokee Bluff Bears by a score of 6-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-5 last Monday.

As for Cherokee Bluff, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games.

For Cherokee Bluff's part, the team relied heavily on Bubba Coleman, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Ethan England also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Looking ahead, Winder-Barrow will be playing at home against Greenbrier at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Cherokee Bluff, they are taking a road trip to square off against Wesleyan at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
