Basketball Recap: Faith Christian Falls to Veritas Christian Academy in First Game of Season

Faith Christian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by Veritas Christian Academy and fell 81-2. Faith Christian lost against Veritas Christian Academy in their previous head to head back in January of 2020, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 66-19 score last time.

Veritas Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Madelyn Seifert out in front who went 9 for 10 on her way to 19 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Seifert is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amya Cuddon, who went 9 of 14 on her way to 18 points in addition to six assists and five steals.

Veritas Christian Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Faith Christian will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Trinity Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Veritas Christian Academy, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against American Christian School at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
