Basketball Game Preview: Laguna Beach Breakers vs. Capistrano Valley Cougars + How To Watch

Having just played yesterday, the Laguna Beach Breakers will head out on the road to face off against the Capistrano Valley Cougars at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

On Friday, Laguna Beach came up short against Huntington Beach and fell 45-32. The Breakers haven't had much luck with the Oilers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Fiona McCormick, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Ava Heacock, who scored eight points.

Meanwhile, Capistrano Valley posted their closest win since December 10, 2024 on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Rancho Alamitos 33-31. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Laguna Beach's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Capistrano Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.

Everything came up roses for Laguna Beach against Capistrano Valley in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, as the squad secured a 57-0 win. Will the Breakers repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
