Softball Recap: Westover Takes a Loss

Westover extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-9. They came up short against the Peach County Trojans, falling 16-0. The match marked the first time this year in which the Patriots were not able to get on the board.

As for Peach County, they pushed their record up to 9-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Considering they have won nine contests by more than 11 runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Peach County's part, they let Shaniyah Gibson and Taleyah Marable run wild. Gibson got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Marable went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Marable a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Carroll, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westover will welcome Bainbridge at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Peach County, they will take on Crawford County at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
