Softball Recap: Broomfield Falls Short Against Ranked Millard North

Broomfield is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Millard North. The Eagles fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 9-7. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lilly Smith was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Serenity Molloy, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Broomfield's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Millard North, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Broomfield will venture away from home to take on Legacy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Millard North, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Marian at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Crusaders' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
