Football Recap: South Mountain Jaguars vs. Camelback Spartans
South Mountain had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-6 to make it six. They were dealt a 59-6 defeat at the hands of the Camelback Spartans. The Jaguars lost against the Spartans in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 33-9 score last time.
Despite the loss, South Mountain still got an impressive performance from Jamere Beck, who rushed for 62 yards and one score on only five carries. Beck's longest rush was for an impressive 61 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Camelback's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

South Mountain wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 21-14 loss against Central on the 9th. As for Camelback, they have also already played their next game, a 49-14 win against Browne on the 10th.
