Soccer Recap: Bakersfield Comes Up Short

Bakersfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Bakersfield Christian Eagles, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, the Drillers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 807th, while the Eagles are ranked 191st).

Bakersfield's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12-1. As for Bakersfield Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bakersfield will square off against Ridgeview at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Bakersfield is facing Ridgeview at the right time seeing as Ridgeview is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Bakersfield Christian, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Bakersfield Christian challenge the Independence at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bakersfield Christian will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each contest than the last.
