Monroe Area dropped down to 16-8 on Tuesday, ending the team's six-game streak of wins. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cherokee Bluff Bears. Surprisingly, this marked the Purple Hurricanes' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

As for Cherokee Bluff, their victory bumped their record up to 13-9. Surprisingly, this marked their third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

For Cherokee Bluff's part, the team relied heavily on Jaycee Archer, who fired off three home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Archer has posted since back in August of 2024. Haley Stephenson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Monroe Area will square off against Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
