Arcata is a perfect 10-0 against Ferndale since October of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a proper cat-fight when Arcata took on McKinleyville on Tuesday. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Panthers 2-1. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Arcata were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Ferndale faced South Fork in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Cubs with a sharp 5-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Ferndale, who have now won five matches by three goals or more so far this season.

The win (which was Ferndale's third in a row) raised their record to 9-1-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Arcata, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Arcata skirted past Ferndale 1-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
