Soccer Game Preview: St. Albert vs. Treynor

The St. Albert Falcons will face off against the Treynor Cardinals on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Treynor will be up against a hot St. Albert squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Falcons' defense stepped up to hand Tri-Center a 9-0 shutout on Tuesday. The final result isn't all the surprising considering St. Albert's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Tri-Center are ranked 151st).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Treynor, who bounced back after a loss on the road on May 12th. Everything went their way against Underwood on Tuesday as they made off with a 5-1 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what Treynor needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

St. Albert pushed their record up to 19-2-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 45 goals over those five games. As for Treynor, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3-2 record this season.
