Softball Recap: Mercy Takes a Loss

Mercy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 5-2 to the Wayne Blue Devils. The Monarchs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Mercy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vanessa Burton, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Mercy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Wayne, their record is now 9-6.

Mercy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-0 loss against Bishop Neumann on the 13th. As for Wayne, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Yutan-Mead on the 13th.
