Softball Recap: Mary Persons Takes a Loss

Mary Persons managed to slip by Veterans the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bulldogs lost 13-3 to the Warhawks on Monday.

Mary Persons' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-9. As for Veterans, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-4.

Mary Persons and Veterans should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Bulldogs (ranked 139th) will meet Sandy Creek (ranked 375th) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Veterans will face off against West Laurens at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (4 vs. 33). The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Warhawks 3.4, the Raiders 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
