St. John came tearing into Monday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Jefferson Area Falcons 7-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Heralds also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2025.

The team relied heavily on Carter Beck, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Anthony Severino, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

St. John's win bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Jefferson Area, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-4-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. John will challenge Benedictine at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jefferson Area, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grand Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
