Five MaxPreps Top 25 matchups featured in this week's action.

One of five matchups featuring MaxPreps Top 25 teams going head-to-head, No. 2 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) at No. 11 St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) in the Broward County Football Showcase on Saturday headlines this edition of Top 10 Games of the Week.

Bishop Gorman, the defending MaxPreps National Champs, started the season with a 33-7 win over Kahuku (Hawaii) to extend its winning streak to 26. This will be the season opener for Aquinas as it begins a quest for a sixth consecutive state title.

No. 4 St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) makes the 2,300-plus mile trip to the Sunshine State to face No. 9 Chaminade-Madonna (Hollywood, Fla.) on Saturday. Junior Matai Fuiava takes over at quarterback for the Braves and will have a talented receiving corps. Zachary Katz transferred over from True North Classical Academy (Miami) after throwing for 2,973 yards and 38 touchdowns as a freshman and is next in line under center for the Lions.

The third game from the Broward County Football Showcase featured in the Top 10 Games of the Week is No. 20 American Heritage (Plantation, Fla.) hosting No. 6 Milton (Ga.) on Friday. Milton started the season with an impressive 13-10 win over No. 21 Buford (Ga.).

No. 1 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) gets underway Thursday against No. 8 Centennial (Corona, Calif.). The big news leading up to this one is the availability of Centennial's five-star quarterback Husan Longstreet. He is a game-time decision according to head coach Matt Logan.

Another marquee matchup on Thursday features No. 18 Corner Canyon (Draper, Utah) hosting No. 3 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.). The Chargers opened the season with a 70-42 win over American Fork (Utah). Junior quarterback Helamen Casuga completed 18 of 20 passes for 482 yards and six touchdowns while senior running back Bryton Brady added 14 carries for 281 yards and three scores.

No. 24 Orange Lutheran (Orange, Calif.) at Serra (Gardena, Calif.), No. 15 Central (Miami) vs. Lakeland (Fla.), Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) at Mission Viejo (Calif.), No. 25 Folsom (Calif.) hosting Long Beach Poly (Long Beach, Calif.) and Rabun Gap-Nacoochee (Rabun Gap, Ga.) at Baylor (Chattanooga, Tenn.) round out the games of the week.
