Recap: Leuzinger Olympians vs. North Saxons
The Leuzinger Olympians and the North Saxons squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly the Leuzinger Olympians had to settle for second. They took a 76-62 bruising from the Saxons. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Leuzinger lost, one person who can't be blamed is Madison Watts. Despite the final result, she scored 28 points along with two steals. That was a full 45.2% of Leuzinger's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Andrea Lopez, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Leuzinger's loss dropped their record down to 25-5. As for North, they are on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 20 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.
Leuzinger does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North, they will square off against Santiago at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,336 points over their last 20 matchups.
