Softball Recap: West Delaware Snags Sixth Victory in Last Eight Games

West Delaware barely beat Independence the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hawks put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 13-2 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Hawks have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

West Delaware has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Independence, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-19.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: West Delaware beat the Mustangs by a score of 4-3 later that day.
