Softball Recap: MacArthur Highlanders vs. Duncan Demons
MacArthur had lost six straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 9-17-2 to make it seven. They came up short against the Duncan Demons, falling 10-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Demons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 on September 8th.
As for Duncan, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 25-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games.
For Duncan's part, Mikena Wilson was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Wilson was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaelyn Reed, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Jaylee Roebuck was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
