Football Game Preview: Washington County Tigers vs. Ell-Saline Cardinals + How To Watch

The Washington County Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Ell-Saline Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Washington County has given up an average of 39.2 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Washington County is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 78 points two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Sylvan-Lucas on Friday. They were beaten by the Mustangs 52-6.

Meanwhile, Ell-Saline came tearing into Friday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 41.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Oilers 36-6. The Cardinals pushed the score to 28-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Oilers had little chance of recovering from.

Ell-Saline's win came from a few key players Washington County will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Reese Krone, who rushed for 82 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 139 yards and three TDs. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making six total tackles. Collin Dent also helped with two scores in total.

Ell-Saline was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 230 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Ell-Saline's record is now 7-1. As for Washington County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
