Softball Recap: Jeff Davis' Loss Ends 14-Game Winning Streak at Home

Jeff Davis dropped to 5-3 on Thursday, ending the team's 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They came up short against the Thomasville Bulldogs, falling 18-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-3 on Tuesday.

As for Thomasville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Thomasville's part, Khiler Oehlhof made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Oehlhof was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaelyn Oehlhof, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Avery Hurst, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

While Jeff Davis had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
