Soccer Game Preview: Crisp County vs. Dooly County

The Crisp County Cougars will square off against the Dooly County Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Crisp County proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let Berrien get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. Given Crisp County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 100th, while Berrien are ranked 238th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Dooly County unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 5-1 to Georgia Military College.

Dooly County's goal came courtesy of Jesus Vega, who's now up to 39 this season.

Crisp County is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 29 goals over those eight games. As for Dooly County, their loss dropped their record down to 16-3.

Crisp County was able to grind out a solid win over Dooly County when the teams last played back in February of 2021, winning 3-1. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bobcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
